BADMINTON GAMES RULES

Playing the game of badminton can be great fun, but if you don’t know the rules, it can be frustrating.By learning the badminton rules and regulations, you will increase your understanding and enjoyment of the game.    

The rules will vary, depending upon what type of game that you play, whether single or doubles, or tournament or casual match.Learning about the badminton rules and regulations will allow you to play better and enjoy the game more.   

The scoring system varies depending upon who is playing.

 

ME3020 Radio ContolledA badminton match consists of three games and the person or team who scores best out of these three games wins.

 

In doubles and men’s single matches, the first one to reach the score of 15 wins.

 

In a women’s single match the first side to reach the score of 11 wins the game.

If the score reaches 14-all in men’s games or 10-all in women’s games, the side that scored 14 (or 10) first, can play to 15 or choose to set the game at 17 (13 in women’s games).

In singles badminton, you serve from the right court when your opponent has scored an even number of points, and serve from the left when your opponent has scored an odd number of points.  

You and your opponent hit the shuttle back and forth until a fault is made or the shuttle hits the court.  When you reach the score that fits your sex and type of game, the game is over and you can play again.

At the beginning of a double’s badminton game, each side gains the right to serve and this is done from the right side of the court. 

Only the opponent who is diagonal to the server may hit the shuttle.  If the shuttle is touched or hit by the opponent’s partner, a point is scored. After this first service is returned, you or your partner can hit the shuttle back from any position on the court and the opponents may do the same until the shuttle is not in play anymore.

Badminton rules and regulations are many, which is why it is important to learn as much as possible about the game. Whether you are playing it as a hobby or as a professional, you will find that the rules are an important facet of the game that you need to know to play it correctly and competitively.

Don’t get bogged down in the badminton rules and regulations, but learn them through playing.  This can make it fun to learn and fun to play the game.
